those of who has watched the movies "an american crime" or "the girl next door", must be familiar with the story. I was doing a small research on various form of child abuse when i came across her story. though it to in place in the 1960's its gruesome and i cant understand why anyone would do such.
she was a daughter of carnival workers and when her parents were working she was placed under the guardianship of Baniszewski family. She was tortured and abused by gertrude baniszewski.

havnt heard of this sylvia. but i think a gal by the same name was murdered here in maldives during the 80s.
the murderer is freely living, if i recall right, B. Hithadhoo. happily married to a local islander.
