I think its stupid people push you in to wearing burka's and make it seem and sound like the most important thing in islam while, wearing it they don't care what the girl does !!! Is it like once you wear it , you are this most angelic person ever and there is nothing wrong about you no matter what sin u commit u arent going to be tainted with names nor wrath from the god? I just am making a statement that you cant cover up your everyday sins by just wearing a burka.

Asians, Maldivians included, are more concerned about appearances.
They may condemn vice but as long as you commit it but keep it out of the public eye, it is OK.
In that sense, many parents want their children to wear the burka 'cos to the society at large they want to give the image that their ornaments (children) are clean, pure, and full of virtue, though deep down they know that their children engage in all kinds of "vice".
We are a hypocritical society.

it's not just Asians, it's a human trait. If you generalize it it will include europeans, aussies and the superior americans as well. There are some maldivians who don't ive a damn.
religion is just another way to control humans.

I say that if you want to wear it wear it but dont try to make everyone else wear it. The people who dont wear it dont go around asking those who wear it to take it off, so they should extend the same courtesy of live and let live to the others.
As for the beards, dont get me started on them!!
I couldnt agree with you more. they wear the veil but no end to how distant they are from religion. its become more of a fashion now. And a coverup. and some of the ones that wear the face covering seems to be the worst.
